Science lagging as usual

A fair bit of science seems to being repressed over the whole GM issue. This is understandable as it takes time to build up a body of evidence and GM companies want to get their commercial interest through to control our food. It's such a shame that scientists wait so long for the "proof'. I always thought that the precautionary principle was a part of science not an emotional add-on after everyone else proves it. You know, maybe there's some things that seem a little stupid that perhaps we just shouldn't do!

Good,no great, news for a change!

We'll be keeping an eye out for the results of this. The Public Patent Foundation on the behalf of 60 family farms, seed companies and organic organizations is taking Monsanto to court. Go Pubpat and FTCLDF!

Don't be fooled!

Just reading this post from the Sydney Morning Herald.http://www.smh.com.au/news/national/seed-sleuth-on-hunt-for-daily-eternal-bread/2007/08/06/1186252631485.html.

Despite what Dr Street says - We haven't been eating GM food for 10,000 years!

This is almost lying - GM technology has only been around since methods of recombining DNA (gene shears etc) have been around - 1973 I make it - see wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genetic_engineering.

Got to remember this guys funding source is the grains industry. See our previous article on the GRDC too. Figure it out for yourself.

I don't think this guy's any sort of hero, possibly the reverse. Save us! Save us, save us now!
Sorry, I thought I heard open pollinated seeds calling.
